Both Joseph (aged 53) and Elizabeth (aged 61) were alive in 1861 census.
Lived at Ladys Lane, Denby. Joseph described as coal miner, and Elizabeth as coal miner's wife.
Both Joseph (aged 62) and Elizabeth (aged 71) were alive in 1871 census.
Lived at Denby 'Villige', two households from the Vicarage. Joseph described as coal miner, and Elizabeth as coal-miner's wife. Had three lodgers from Belper: John Underwood (aged 23), a railway pointsman; Ann Bell Underwood (aged 24), and Elizabeth Underwood (aged 1).
Death in 1875 suggested by Barbara Caulton's research - TBC.

......Ann Underwood was Ann Kitty Leivers born 1847 at Denby to Daniel Leivers and Elizabeth Hunt, who in turn was the daughter of Elizabeth (Rowland) Hunt and Thomas Hunt. She married John Underwood 1868.
Joseph married Elizabeth Hunt (nee Rowland), daughter of James Rowland and Mary, on 9 Dec 1832. (Elizabeth Hunt (nee Rowland) was born on 12 Apr 1799 in Greasley, Notts and died on 22 Jun 1874 in Denby, Derbyshire.)
